We think re-keying paperwork is a solved problem that nobody solved properly.

First, the name. A cribble is an old English word for a coarse sieve — from the Latin cribrum. Sifting is what it does: paperwork in, clean data out.

Cribble is built by Abbika Group for small business owners and the bookkeepers and accounting firms who serve them — the people who still spend evenings typing invoice numbers into accounting software because the tools that promised to fix this only ever handled the easy half.

The easy half is a clean, typed, English-language invoice. The real world sends handwritten delivery notes, German e-invoices, bank statements in three currencies, and remittance advices that pay five invoices at once. That's the paperwork we built Cribble to read.

Our operating principle is honesty in the details: confidence scored per field rather than blended into a flattering average, unmatched references shown rather than hidden, and failures explained with a next step rather than swallowed. Trust in automation is earned in exactly those moments.
